I've always thought of Strawberry Shortcake as the runner-up behind Apple Pie as the quintessential American dessert. It's simple, beautiful, delicious and universally loved. You can find local strawberries in most of our proud states and there's nothing more American than a biscuit. This beloved dessert is best enjoyed on long summer evenings, waiting for fireworks or gobbled down with your bathing suit still on. Apple Pie can have fall, Strawberry Shortcake is pleased to be crowned the American summer dessert of choice.

Here's our recipe for Strawberry Shortcake made with Robinhood Meetinghouse Cream Cheese Biscuits. The rich, buttery biscuits suck in the strawberry juice just so and balance perfectly with the vanilla whipped cream. You can make the biscuits in the morning while the house is still cool and set them aside until serving time. Have fun!

  • 6 Robinhood Meetinghouse Cream Cheese Biscuits
  • 1 qt Strawberries
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 pt whipping cream
  • 1 tsp of Vanilla extract

Slice and sugar strawberries to taste. Set aside to macerate, ideally a few hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place frozen Robinhood Meetinghouse Cream Cheese Biscuits on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let cool.

Whip cream with sugar and vanilla to soft peaks.

Split biscuits and top with strawberries and their juices. Add a dollop of whipped cream and serve.
